Grooming
Have your pet groomed at Clyde’s Animal Clinic!
We believe that bathing and grooming are essential to the health of your pet. Regular grooming can keep your pet healthy and safe. We have a thorough knowledge of the different grooming needs of the various pet breeds and will recommend specific grooming services depending upon your pet’s breed. During your pet’s grooming, we will evaluate your pet for fleas, ticks, lumps and bumps.
A full grooming includes:
- Bath
- Cut/Shave
- Blow dry
- Routine ear cleaning
- Nail trim
- Anal gland expression
- Tooth brushing
- Gentle massage
We groom cats too. Even though cats are able to groom themselves, it is good to have your cat professionally groomed. This will reduce shedding, remove any current tangles or knots and can prevent future tangles, matting and knots from forming. Grooming can also help mitigate allergies since these allergies are often caused by elements in the cat’s saliva which is spread to the entire cat’s coat through licking and self-grooming.
Your Pet's 2012 Resolution:
Help them get Healthy!
As the New Year begins and we make our new year's resolution to lose weight, let's not forget to add our overweight pets into the plan. As reward-based training becomes more popular, so does pet obesity. This is a serious issue and obesity is a leading contributor to diabetes in pets. Overeating, a predisposition for obesity, lack of exercise and eating the wrong types of food are the most likely causes of your pet's weight gain. Overweight pets may be suffering physically as a result of carrying the extra weight, and obese pets, like obese humans, do not live as long as their more active and weight appropriate counterparts. Obesity in pets is a condition over which the owner has significant control.
